500 Rupee Note Holder: Various types of news are being heard across the country regarding currency notes. Recently the government has decided to withdraw Rs 2000 notes from circulation. Meanwhile, RBI has issued an important statement. The central bank has issued an important statement regarding the notes of 10, 20, 100 and 500 rupees with the ‘star’ symbol. Why are Star Notes issued?

In place of misprinted notes, the star symbol is given in the printed notes. These notes have a star symbol instead of the serial number. RBI said that the wrongly printed notes in bundles of notes are being replaced with notes with star symbol.

Are these notes valid?

Many such posts and messages were coming on social media. In these messages, concern was expressed about the validity of the notes with the star mark on the number panel. RBI has addressed this concern by issuing a statement. RBI has said that the note with the star mark will continue to be in circulation like other legal tender. A star on a note indicates that the note has been modified or reprinted. RBI has made it clear.

Note exchange allowed till September 30

The RBI governor said that holders of Rs 2,000 note can either deposit it in their bank account or exchange it at the bank. Banks have been directed to make necessary arrangements for exchange of Rs 2,000 notes. The RBI said that it expects most of the Rs 2,000 notes to be returned by the September 30 deadline.
