7th Pay Commission: The central government can give another gift to its lakhs of employees very soon. 

According to recent reports, the Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi may once again increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) in July . Due to this, about 50 lakh employees of the central government are likely to benefit as the salary of the employees will increase.

The central government can increase the DA for its employees by five percent in the month of July. This can lead to a 39 per cent increase in DA . Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees is revised twice a year. The first is given from January to June, while the second comes from July to December.

How much will DA increase in July under 7th Pay Commission?

Let us tell you that in the year 2022, the first increase in Dearness Allowance ( DA ) was announced in March. The AICPI figure in December 2021 was 125.4. But in January 2022 it fell 0.3 points to 125.1.

The All India CPI -IW for February 2022 was lower by 0.1 points at 125.0. On 1-month percentage change, it decreased by 0.08 percent over the previous month as against a growth of 0.68 percent in the same month a year ago. There was a jump of 1 point in the month of March. The AICPI index figures for March are 126.

All India CPI -IW for April 2022 stood at 127.7 with an increase of 1.7 points. Data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment shows that on a 1-month percentage change, it increased by 1.35 per cent over the previous month as compared to a growth of 0.42 per cent in the same month a year ago.

The year-on-year inflation stood at 6.33 per cent as compared to 5.35 per cent in the previous month and 5.14 per cent during the same month a year ago. Similarly, food inflation stood at 7.05 per cent as against 6.27 per cent in the previous month and 4.78 per cent during the same month a year ago.

39% DA in July under 7th Pay Commission

The central government can increase the dearness allowance by 5 percent in the month of July. Due to which the total DA in dearness allowance can reach up to 39 percent. Due to increase in dearness allowance, the salary of the employees will increase significantly. Earlier in the month of July, there was talk of increasing DA by 4%, then the DA of the employees was expected to increase by 38 percent.

How much salary will increase after increasing DA?

If the basic salary of government employees is Rs 18,000, then they are getting Rs 6,120 DA at the rate of 31 per cent DA. If the latest DA hike is implemented at 4 per cent in July, they will get a DA of Rs 6,840. This means their salary will be increased by Rs 720 after the latest DA hike.

To reduce inflation, the Center increases DA in January and July every year. Since retail inflation is at year’s high, the possibility of hike in dearness allowance is high. Besides, CPI-based inflation stood at an eight-year high of 7.79 per cent in April.
