Let us tell you that due to corona virus infection, lockdown was imposed across the country. During this, the Narendra Modi government of the Center had banned the DA payment of central employees.

Finance Minister did not make any announcement in the budget

In this way, DA was not paid to central employees from January 2020 to June 2021. After this the payment of DA was started. There is a demand from the employee organizations that the DA between January 2020 and June 2021 should also be paid.

That is, they should get 18 months DA. In the budget itself, the employees were waiting for any announcement on this from the government, but Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman did not make any announcement about this in the budget.

Council placed a demand before the government

Despite this, the employees are hopeful that the government will consider their outstanding DA and will also announce it soon.

According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council of JCM, the council has placed its demand before the government. However, no decision has been taken by the government so far. Sources are telling that talks have also been held with the Cabinet Secretary.

Employees want one time DA settlement

There is a demand of employee organizations that one time settlement of 18 months arrears of dearness allowance should be done.

Mr. Mishra has said that the meeting of JCM with the officials of Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure is to be held very soon. Whenever the meeting will be held, the payment of 18 months DA arrears will definitely be discussed.

DA arrears will get Rs 2 lakh

If there is talk of arrears payment of DA, then the employees will get a benefit of up to Rs 2 lakh. The DA arrears of Level-1 employees will be between Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,000. Level-13 employees will get Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 as DA arrears.

How is DA calculated?

Let us inform that the calculation of DA is done by multiplying the current rate of dearness allowance with the basic pay. Government employees and public sector employees and pensioners get DA and DR.

Let us tell you that the retail inflation of industrial workers rose to 5.84 percent in January. The inflation rate has increased mainly due to the cost of some food items. This is sure to increase their DA as well.
