7th Pay Commission: Good news has come out for lakhs of central employees and pensioners across the country, due to which they will not be able to swell with happiness. Because central employees can get the first dearness allowance / dearness relief incentive of 2023 this month. According to sources, paperwork is being done regarding Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief and the DA hike may be announced by the Central Government in the next 10 days. Central government employees are likely to get a 4 percent hike in DA, while pensioners may also get a 4 percent hike in DR.
An official revealed that the hike for central employees will be crucial in combating inflation. The DA hike, once announced, will be effective from January 2023. The budget hovers around the next round of DA hike, with earlier reports suggesting that the announcement will be made on Holi (March 8) or the next day. Although it has not been officially announced yet, it is now expected to be announced by March 20, 2023.
The DA figure for central government employees currently stands at 38 per cent, after an increase of 7 per cent from two hikes in 2022. A 4 per cent hike will take the DA to 42 per cent.

More good news is likely to come for central employees. With the increase in DA, another good news may come for the central employees. The Center can give a green signal to the demand for increasing the fitment factor. It is currently 2.57 per cent under the 7th Pay Commission guidelines. This figure can be increased to 3.68 percent by the Center. If such an increase in the fitment factor is announced, the minimum pay of central government employees may increase from the existing Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.
