7th Pay Commission DA Hike: Finally the box of happiness has opened for the central employees. Dearness Allowance (DA) numbers have been released. AICPI Index data for June 2023 has been released. There has been a bumper increase in the dearness allowance of the employees. Now it is confirmed that he will get DA Hike at the rate of 46%. There has been a steep increase of 4 per cent in his dearness allowance.
Big jump in June AIPCI Index
The numbers of June 2023 AICPI index have come. There has been a big jump in the index. The June index has reached 136.4 points. The index number in May was 134.7 points. A total increase of 1.7 points has been recorded in June. According to the figures of May, the total DA score was 45.58 percent, which has increased to 46.24 percent in June 2023. Now central employees will be paid dearness allowance at the rate of 46 per cent. It can be announced by the government in the month of September.
DA Hike will be applicable from 1 July 2023
Till the new rates are announced, the employees will be paid at the rate of 42 per cent only. However, the latter will be paid along with the arrears. Let us tell you, the benefit of this increase in dearness allowance will be given to the central government employees, who are getting salary under the 7th Pay Commission. According to the information, a total of more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will be directly given the benefit of this increase. The new rates will be applicable from 1 July 2023.
Dearness allowance is given twice
Dearness allowance increases twice every year and it is announced. The Finance Ministry of the government approves it and it is decided by the Labor Ministry by linking it to the Industrial Inflation figures (AICPI). January 1 and July 1 are the fixed dates for this. But, it is usually announced in March and September. Central Government employees eagerly wait for this.
How much dearness allowance increased in this half year
If there is an increase of 4 percent in dearness allowance in July 2023 as well, then from July 2021, there would have been a total increase of 15 percent in DA. In July 2021, dearness allowance which was stopped for one and a half years, DA was simultaneously increased by 17 percent. After that, it was increased by 3 percent for July 2021, 3 percent in January 2022, 4 percent in July 2022 and then 4 percent for January 2023. Overall it has reached 42 percent. Now in July 2023, once again there is a jump of 4 percent. In such a situation, it will now reach 46 percent. If we look at the calculation from 2021, then there has been an increase of about 15 percent in dearness allowance in one and a half years.
