DA may increase by 4 percent
According to media reports, there may be a big increase in the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of central employees. There can be a substantial increase of 4 per cent in his DA. After the AICPI figures of April 2023, a 4 percent increase in the DA of central employees is believed to be fixed. However, the inflation figures for May and June are yet to come. The final DA will be decided only after the arrival of these figures, but according to which the AICPI figures have come, there has been a wave of happiness among the central employees.

If the dearness allowance score remains above 45.60 even after the figures of May and June, then there will be an increase of 4 percent in the DA of the employees. In such a situation, his DA will be 46 percent. Right now the central employees are getting DA at the rate of 42 per cent.
DA is reviewed twice a year.
The dearness allowance of central employees is reviewed twice a year in January and July. That is, now there will be a review in the DA of central employees in July. Whenever the DA of central employees increases in the coming months, it will be applicable from July 2023 only.
How much will the salary increase if DA increases?
If pay band 5400 salary is Rs 30550 plus dearness allowance at 46 per cent, then it will be Rs 1,68,636 annually. At present, employees are getting DA of Rs 1,53,972 annually on the basis of 42 per cent of this pay band. That is, there will be an increase of Rs 14664 annually in the dearness allowance of central employees on this pay band.
