If the rates of fitment factor are revised by the Modi government, then it will benefit 52 lakh employees. An increase of ₹ 8000 will be seen in the basic salary of the same employees.
3 to 4 percent increase in dearness allowance soon
The dearness allowance can be increased by 3 to 4 percent for the July half-year by the central government. Along with this, the dearness allowance of the employees may increase from 42% to 45 or 46%. Presently pensioners including central employees are being given the benefit of dearness allowance and dearness relief at the rate of 42%.
Any important decision possible on fitment factor
On the other hand, the central government can also increase the basic salary of the employees. At present, there is no proposal pending with the government regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. At present the fitment factor is 2.57 times. For a long time, the central employees have been demanding to increase the fitment factor to 3.68%. If this happens, then the fitment factor for the basic salary of the employees can be increased to 3.68 times. However, according to media reports, before the elections in 2023 or 2024, the Modi government may take an important decision on the fitment factor. At present, no official confirmation has been made on this.
Basic salary can increase from 18000 to 21000 or 26000
If the salary is increased from 3.68 times, then the basic salary of the employees can increase from 18000 to 21000 or 26000. In fact, according to media reports, the government can increase the fitment factor up to 3 times. The announcement for this is possible in 2024 while the fitment factor can be implemented from 2026.
It may be noted that earlier in 2016, with the formation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the fitment factor was increased. With the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the minimum salary of the employees was increased from ₹6000 to ₹18000. Along with this, the fitment factor was fixed at 2.57 times. There will also be an increase in salary and allowances. Actually the basic salary is prepared by multiplying it with the fitment factor. Along with this, the full salary of the employees is calculated by adding other allowances to it.
