The Central Government has extended the facility of LTC (Travel Leave Concession) to the employees for travel to the Northeast, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Jammu and Kashmir by two years. Now employees will be able to take advantage of it till 25 September 2024.
Eligible central government employees will get paid leave while traveling on LTC, in addition to fare for travel tickets. In the order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, it has been said that this scheme is from 26 September 2022 to 25 September 2024. (two years) has been extended. Government servants who are not eligible for air travel have also been allowed to travel in economy class of an airline to the Northeast, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Under the order, such employees can also travel in economy class by any airline directly from their headquarters to Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Northeast. The employees have also been warned that any misuse of LTC will be taken seriously. and appropriate action will be taken under the rules. Earlier in the year 2020 also, the central government had extended the period of this facility to the central employees for two years and now it has been increased once again in 2022.
