According to the State Reorganization Act, consent between Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh is necessary for increasing the dearness relief of pensioners in Madhya Pradesh. The Government of Chhattisgarh has increased the dearness relief of its pensioners at the rate of 5%.
After the increase of 5%, the dearness relief of the employees of Chhattisgarh has increased to 33%. Explain that 76% of the expenditure on the pension of the employees before the state bifurcation is borne by Madhya Pradesh while 24% is borne by Chhattisgarh.
