The government has announced to increase dearness allowance by 3.75 percent. After the order given by the government, DA of employees in the state increased to 38.75 percent. Earlier the DA of the employees here was 35 percent. The government has announced a four percent increase in DA for UGC/AICTE/ICAR scale lecturers and judicial officers.
Additional burden of Rs 1,109 crore
After the announcement of DA hike, there will be an additional burden of Rs 1,109 crore on the state government. UP government also increased DA.
The old pension scheme has been implemented in non-BJP ruled states Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Last week, the government had increased the DA/DR of central employees and pensioners by 4 percent. Along with this, 78 days bonus for railway employees was announced by the government.
After this, the UP government also increased the DA of the employees by 4 percent. The government plans to give the increased DA amount to the arrears along with the October salary before Diwali.
