However, this time the Railway Federation has demanded an increase in it. But, the final decision on this has to be taken by the Central Government.

What is the federation’s demand regarding bonus?

Indian Railway Employees Federation (IREF) has written a letter to Railways demanding revised bonus on the basis of 7th Pay Commission. IREF has demanded that the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) were implemented in the Railways on January 1, 2016, but the employees’ bonus (PLB) is still being paid on the basis of calculation of minimum wages prescribed in the 6th Pay Commission. Used to be. In such a situation, it should be modified and given under the 7th Pay Commission.

Which employees are to get bonus?

Railway Employees Federation demands that as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the amount of bonus should be increased to Rs 46,159, considering the minimum wage as the basis. A request has been made to the Railway Ministry for this.

How much burden will there be on the government exchequer in the current situation?

Paying an amount equivalent to 78 days as bonus to railway employees is estimated to put a burden of more than Rs 1832 crore on the government exchequer. This financial burden is when PLB is calculated on the minimum wage of Rs 7,000 prescribed by the Sixth Pay Commission.
