Dearness Allowance Hike For Central Employees: Currently, central employees and pensioners are getting DA and DR at the rate of 42 per cent. The employees are waiting for the announcement of the proposed increase in dearness allowance in July.

New Delhi: The salary of central employees is going to increase soon, as the central government may announce the proposed dearness allowance hike in July. The central government increases Dearness Allowance to central employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners twice every year in January and July. Now July is coming closer, in such a situation, it is estimated that the government may announce the increased dearness allowance on 30th June. If this happens, then the salary of the employees and the pensioners will start getting increased.

More than 1.17 crore central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the announcement of increasing dearness allowance and dearness relief (Central government employees DA Hike 2023) in the month of July. The central government increases the DA and DR of central employees and pensioners twice every year (DA Hike July 2023) so that the salary is not affected by inflation. The last time the DA hike for January was announced in March 2023.

DA was increased by 4 percent in March 2023.

At present, central employees and pensioners are getting DA and DR at the rate of 42 percent. Last time in March, 4 percent out of 38 percent was increased. Now even in the proposed increase in July, the central employees are hopeful that the government will increase DA, DR by at least 4 percent. Due to which DA is expected to be increased to 46 percent. The government can announce this on 30 June or 1 July.

How much will the salary increase if there is 46% DA,

if the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 23,500 per month, then according to 42% DA, the total dearness allowance per month is Rs 9,870. Now if the government increases DA by 4 percent to 46 percent in the proposed DA hike, then the amount received will increase to a total of Rs 10,810 per month. In this way, central employees will start getting Rs 940 more in salary every month.
