Money will come to the account after verification

Actually, if you get the Rs 2,000 note exchanged by post instead of going to the RBI office, then while getting the note exchanged, you will have to give your account details to the postal department. After this, the postal department will send your money to the RBI office along with your details. After the details are verified, if everything is found correct then the money will be transferred to your account in exchange for your Rs 2000 note.

What details are being sought in the postal department?

Now the next question comes that what information is being taken from the customers in the postal department? So it includes your account holder name, account number, IFSC code, mobile number, how many Rs 2000 notes are there, their number and PAN card number. As you know, a few days ago Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Gupta informed that 97 percent of the notes have been returned, only notes worth Rs 10,000 crore are left in the market.
