FASTag KYC New Rules: Government-owned NHAI announced on January 29 that even if the balance is there but KYC is not complete, FASTags will be deactivated by banks after January 31, 2024. “To enhance the efficiency of the electronic toll collection system and provide seamless movement at toll plazas, NHAI has launched ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ initiative, which aims to facilitate the use of a single FASTag for multiple vehicles,” an official statement said. Transferring or prohibiting installation of multiple FASTags for a particular vehicle.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is also urging Fastag users to complete the ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) process of its latest Fastag by updating KYC as per RBI guidelines. The statement said that to avoid inconvenience, users will have to ensure that the KYC of their new Fastag is complete.
It added that FASTag users will have to comply with ‘one vehicle, one FASTag’ and surrender all FASTags previously issued through their respective banks.
Last date today
: The statement said, ‘Only the new i.e. KYC FASTag account will remain active as the previous tags will be deactivated/blacklisted after January 31, 2024.’ Actually, its purpose is that no one should use Fastag for other vehicles.
How to do KYC of FASTag?
Go to the official FASTag website.
Log in using your mobile number and the OTP received on your phone.
Go to My Profile section on the home page and click on the KYC tab.
Provide all the required details and click on submit button.
