Indian Railway Latest News– Amrit Bharat Express train has been started to provide best facilities to common passengers. There is no air-conditioned coach in this train like Garib Rath.

People in the country are liking the trains equipped with modern facilities. In view of this, after Vande Bharat Express, the government has started Amrit Bharat Express train. The government has now decided to make 50 more Amrit Bharat trains. This information was given by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in the House. The Railway Minister said that the work of making 2500 general coaches will be started in the coming months. A target has been set to make a total of 10,000 such coaches.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off two Amrit Bharat trains on 30 December 2023. Of the two Amrit Bharat trains launched, one is running from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to Darbhanga in Bihar, while the other train is running between Malda in West Bengal and Bengaluru in Karnataka.

Mail-passenger trains will have four general coaches

Responding to concerns about the increasing travel demand in the railways, Ashwini Vaishnav told the House that the standard structure of having four general coaches will now be implemented in all mail passenger trains. The ratio of two-thirds general coaches and one-third air-conditioned coaches is being maintained in trains.

2964 stations covered with electronic interlocking

The Railway Minister told the Lok Sabha that between 2014-24, 2964 stations were covered with electronic interlocking. Along with this, steps were taken to make them interoperable. Referring to the steps taken towards ensuring the safety of passengers, Vaishnav said that rail over bridges and underpasses have been built to reduce the concerns caused by unmanned level crossings. He said that 837 electronic interlocking systems have also been installed. Regarding Kavach, Vaishnav accused the opposition of not obtaining safety certificates for equipment like Kavach during his tenure which was implemented in 2006.

There was no ATP till 2014

Vaishnav also mentioned that the Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system was not working on “any kilometre of the rail network” till 2014. He said only experiments were done, but they were never implemented. Referring to its use case, Vaishnav told the House that when trains run at high speed, it becomes difficult to monitor the signals.
