Waiting Ticket Confirmation Rules: When you get a waiting ticket, it has GNWL, PQWL and RQWL written on it. Since there are many types of waiting lists and how many chances are there for which waiting ticket to get confirmed, very few people know this.

General Waiting List (GNWL)

This means General Waiting List. If a person travels from the first station of a train route and his ticket is not confirmed, then the ticket is in the General Waiting List. In this situation, there are high chances of the ticket getting confirmed.

Remote Location Waiting List (RLWL)

The chances of tickets getting confirmed in this waiting list are the highest. Since it has a quota of seats of many small stations. In such a situation, the waiting tickets at these stations are given the RLWL code.

Pooled Quota Waiting List (PQWL)

Suppose if you are travelling in a train which is a long distance train and you have to travel between two stations on this route and your ticket is in waiting, then it will go to the PQWL waiting list. When a passenger from that area cancels his ticket, only then will your ticket get confirmed.

Request Waiting List (RQWL)

If your ticket is included in this list, then the chances of it getting confirmed are very less. This is called the last waiting list. If there is a pooled quota on any railway route, then the railway makes this waiting list.

Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC)

The chances of it getting confirmed are quite high. In this, half the seat is given to the passenger. After it gets confirmed, two passengers can travel on the same seat.
