PAN 2.0 Update: Your taxpayer identity printed in black letters on sky blue plastic card will soon become an old story. Yes, we are talking about the new PAN card. The new avatar of PAN card. It will not be a plastic card. Nor will you be able to carry it in your pocket. It will not be possible to feel it by touching it with fingers. Its writing will not be visible either. But every proof of your identity in it will be so accurate that from government agencies to businessmen, everyone will have to accept it as the legal address of your identity.
PAN i.e. Permanent Account Number is still used as a unique ID for income tax related transactions. But the new avatar of PAN card, PAN 2.0, which is not visible now, is completely virtual. This new version of PAN card, which is completely digital, will prove your true identity as an income tax payer only through a unique QR code. As per the decision taken by the Government of India last week, it can also be used as a valid document under the Aadhar card. Till now PAN card did not have this status.
You can use PAN 2.0 i.e. new digital PAN card as an identity address for entry into hotels, airports, railway stations etc. You can even use it as your identity for GST registration, Direct Identification Number or company registration. This unique QR code of PAN 2.0 will come to your email.
