BSNL new offer: Unlimited calling, data on Bharat phone for just Rs.97 per month

BSNL, which operates across the country except these two cities – Delhi and Mumbai, has over 98 million mobile subscribers and 16 million landline users.



New Delhi: State-owned telecom firm BSNL last week launched unlimited calling and a data plan for Rs 97 a month for the customers of Micromax’s 4G VoLTE enabled Bharat phone.

The price of the phone is Rs 2,200 and the handset will support 3G connection as well. Also, the phone is dual sim.

“I am glad that BSNL has come with two fresh schemes. This will not only boost BSNL subscribers but also build up their financial position,” Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said while launching the service for public.

“This is step to expand digital India mission,” he further added.

“We are proud that we are joining hands with Micromax, a home grown player on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras. Masses in rural areas that are not connected with themselves will be connected at very affordable rate,” BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava said, while making the agreement with Micromax public.



BSNL, which operates across the country except Delhi and Mumbai, has over 98 million mobile subscribers and 16 million landline customers.

Rahul Sharma Co-founder of Micromax stated that under this partnership, BSNL will offer unlimited calling and data in addition with free incoming and outgoing calls during roaming.

“The total cost of the phone is Rs 2,200 and it’s effective price will be cheaper than that of competition in the market,” Sharma said.

Shrivastava mentioned that the telecom corporation is now in the process of starting 4G services from January next year.

    • The same thing is with me friend… there is no one to care for customers…..
      Simple to announce attractive plans but how to keep old customers in grip don’t know BSNL officers…

      • I am giving this reply based on my experience with Government departments , it’s infrastructure , maintenance , skilled manpower to run the system and many more. Unlike private operators , BSNL is a Government Undertaking , which means not you , not me and not to them. So accountability is not there , initially you may find it well but latter they come back to its original state . Everything is in the hands of third party , they may issues with BSNL due to which BSNL cannot pressurise them. Ultimately the customers have to face their sorry state of affair. If you complain to BSNL top most officials sitting in Newdelhi, they may respond to your call , but they maintain protocol , they will call CGM ofa circle , then to GM , again GM will give instructions to the same group of people who were either unable to or not addressing your grievance.

  41. BSNL is very cheap compare to other providers but the main problem is very poor customer service. Nowadays we have lot of other providers. I was a hardcore fan of BSNL,I had 3 connection.But I disconnected 2 of the connections because of the poor network quality and customer services. They only create new customers and forget the old and reliable customers and doesn’t improve the quality with the increasing numbers.

  53. I have BSNL connection. Your customer care service is very very poor. I paid Rs10,000/- plus as annual subscription in January’17. At home we have two JIO hotspots for Rs399/ for 84 days. Do you how expensive your service has been. JIO comes so handy when your lines are down and your men are not available to attend to. My questions are:
    1. why must i renew coming December at Rs. 10000/= plus.
    2. Dont you feel that having received such large subscription last year in Jan’17, you should extend the period free of cost to say two years.

  126. New scheme seems to be nice. But, I request BSNL to give best services. I am totally unhappy with their Land Line connection with internet. Internet speed is very very slows down useless. Modam provided is useless. Servicemen are always advising me to buy a new modam from the market with our huge expenses, to speed up the internet. Finally I have surrendered the line.

    BSNL is forgetting millions of land line providers. To day we are paying more than Rs 1000/- per month to get unlimited data and very few voice calls free with a restriction to in net ( Combo plan ).
    I think it is the time for BSNL Management to think about land line phones to provide competitive plans so that people may not jump to other providers

From fast two years I am unable to use internet, all the time it shows DNS Server isn’t responding. This simple complaint unable to attend, how they will give this plan service. It is bogus.   293. BSNL service has not been very satisfactory and customer friendly in the past. I am an old customer and client of BSNL with landline & mobile sims and also internet connectivity at home and in office. Sometime ago I had to get my home internet disconnected due to poor service and lack of maintenance by BSNL. With BSNL’s huge assets and infrastructure, it should be the leading telecom service provider in our country. Unfortunately, it appears that private competitors influence BSNL authorities leading to poor performance. I hope and wish that the Govt. of India will take this issue seriously and help BSNL establish itself as a leader in telecom sector.

It should also concentrate on improvement of services to make it faster so that it’s old consumers may feel honored and save time.
