This database also had information about the version of the browser of the users and the operating system which is usually used to load the website. However, experts believe that such data can also be used to track online activity of users.
Surprisingly, this Jio’s insecure database also had some users’ locations. However, the location data was only for those users who gave location access to the systems checker or browser.
According to the report, this database of Reliance Jio contains information such as self-test report of users, age, relative test and gender.
The surprising thing is that Tech Crunch has claimed that they are able to access the exact location data of users from the data they have received from Jio.
Not only this, based on this location data, they are able to identify the user at home. Since the database contained latitude and longitude records, this is possible.
According to the report, according to the information received from this database, there is data of users of most big cities like Mumbai and Pune.
A spokesperson for Reliance Jio has said, ‘We have taken action on this immediately’. However, Jio has not told this in detail yet. For example, how many people have had their data leaked, what kind of information has been leaked and where the company has defaulted.
