SBI has recently announced through Twitter that it will no longer charge SMS alerts and minimum balance charges from account holders. The bank has said that download #YONOSBI today to get rid of unnecessary apps.
Will not give charge
According to the tweet, customers will no longer have to pay for SMS alerts and minimum balance. The bank has now scrapped the charge for banking service messages on mobile numbers registered with the customer’s account. Now the customer will not have to pay any charge for it.
Minimum balance was not charged
Earlier, customers having an account in SBI had to maintain Rs. 3,000 as minimum balance. Earlier, whoever did not keep Rs. 3, 000 in the account was charged. If it goes down to less than 50 per cent (Rs 1,500), it would have to pay Rs 10 and GST as fee. If the balance in your account is less than 75 per cent, you had to pay Rs 15 as fee and GST.
How much did it take to charge transaction alerts
Transaction information from everyone’s account by the bank means that the customer can know what transactions are going on with their account. This information reaches the customer through bank SMS. For this, SBI charges customers Rs 12 plus GST for every quarter. The service will be provided free of cost to customers after the new decision.
