UP 69000 Teacher Vacancy 2020: The Supreme Court has allowed the Uttar Pradesh government to fill the posts of 69000 teachers in Uttar Pradesh as per the result declared in May 2020. The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal filed by the Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Mitra Association to challenge the Allahabad High Court’s decision. Cut-off marks have been made for the selection of assistant basic teachers in the state. A bench headed by Justice UU Lalit has given an order to the state government to fill the vacant posts of the remaining 37,000 Shiksha Mitras in the context of the results of the recruitment examination announced in May 2020. The posts were kept vacant since May after an order. The selection process was banned in the state.
On 7 January 2019, the UP government, through a notification, raised the cut-off marks to 65 and 60 for the General and Reserved categories respectively for the 2019 Assistant Teacher Examination filling 32,699 posts. With this notice, 32,629 Shiksha Mitra candidates did not qualify for the examination. The notification to increase the cut off marks was issued a day after the exam to fill 69,000 teacher posts in the state.
