Digital Payment Tips: Digital payment has increased a lot in India in the last few years. Now, from small to big purchases, most people make online payments. UPI, NEFT and IMPS are the most used for online payment,
but many times money is deducted from the bank account during payment with these modes but it is not received by the receiver. In such a situation people get upset. We are going to tell you here some ways by which you can easily get the trapped money back in the bank account.
What if this happens in UPI transactions?
If you have made payment through UPI and even after deducting money from your account, the receiver has not received it, then follow these steps.
- First of all open the UPI app from which the payment has been made.
- Now click on the transaction on which there is a dispute.
- Now after clicking on the transaction, you will see an option either Raise Dispute, Raise Query or Complaint. You can register a complaint by clicking on it.
- According to the rules of RBI, you should get the money back in 1 day.
In case of failure of payment through NEFT or IMPS
If you paid money to someone in NEFT or IMPS mode using netbanking and even after deducting the amount from your account, the person did not get it, then in this situation you can complain in these ways.
- Register a complaint by giving the transaction number by calling the customer care number of your bank.
- You can also register your complaint through email.
- If the phone number of the bank is not available and you do not want to fall into the battle of email, then you can also register your complaint through Twitter.
- The bank will refund your money in due time.
- What are the rules for returning money
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made some rules for such matters. According to the bank, in case of failure of IMPS, UPI or NEFT transaction, the bank will have to give the money back to the customer’s account within T+1 day. Here T stands for the date of transaction.
Suppose you have done a transaction today and it is unsuccessful, then you should get this money back by the next day. If the bank does not return the money within this stipulated time, then the bank will have to pay a penalty of Rs 100 daily to that customer.
If the money does not come in the stipulated time, then complain here
