Indian Railways: Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, has given strict instructions to all the DRMs that safety is paramount for the Railways. 

Therefore, the work of improving the maintenance standards of railway tracks, welds and removal of scrap near rail tracks should be done expeditiously. Prioritizing it in the entire zone should be done expeditiously.

In order to prevent accidents and successful operation of trains in foggy weather, Railways has decided to intensify operations at the divisional level. By running a campaign at the divisional level, instructions are being given to monitor the cracks in the tracks and their welds intensively. Instructions are being issued to all the Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers by holding regular review meetings in this direction on behalf of the Zonal General Managers.

Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager of Northern Railway, in a review meeting in this regard, has given strict instructions to all the DRMs and said that safety is paramount for the Railways. Therefore, the work of improving the maintenance standards of railway tracks, welds and removal of scrap near rail tracks should be done expeditiously. Prioritizing it in the entire zone should be done expeditiously.

The General Manager directed the divisions to carry out campaigns to enhance the safety during the foggy season, and to advise the staff where necessary, that the cracks and welds in the tracks should be monitored extensively and any fault should not remain.

685 toilets will be made

for the convenience of the differently abled, in addition to the existing toilets for the convenience of the disabled, Northern Railway will construct 685 disabled-friendly toilets at various railway stations. Apart from this, 82 more toilets will be constructed in the circulating areas of various stations from CSR funds. He stressed on maintaining safety in railway tracks and relay and panel rooms for smooth running of trains.

Instructing to make the timing of trains 95 percent,

he stressed on reducing human errors in rail operations. He also instructed the Heads of Departments and Divisional Railway Managers to keep punctuality at 95% and to maintain the speed of freight loading, giving priority to safety.

All the concessions and measures given should be given to the customers. On

Freight Business Development, the General Manager said that liaison should be maintained with the Business Development Units. He directed that BDU should create an atmosphere of trust, cooperation and confidence among the customers.

Along with this, all the concessions and measures which are being given to the railways should be made available to the customers. He also told that with every passing month there has been an increase in the loading of food grains and other items.
