The Railway Minister said, ‘Special arrangements have been made for the safety of women passengers in trains. ‘Police’ and ‘Public Order’ are State subjects under the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution of India, however, Railway Protection Force (RPF) GRP and District Police will provide better security to the passengers.’
Along with this, steps are being taken by the Railways with the help of GRP for the safety of women passengers as well as other passengers on trains and stations. The Railway Protection Force had launched a pan-India initiative ‘Meri Saheli’ last year with the aim of providing security to women passengers traveling by trains throughout their journey.
