Pension Scheme :Â After the approval from the cabinet, the Finance Department has issued increased pension to 1.73 lakh pensioners of the state.Â
Four memorandums in this regard were issued simultaneously on Friday. Among these, one was for revised pension, second for pre-2016 pensioners, third for Dearness Allowance and fourth for continuation of pension allowance.
There are 43 thousand pensioners in the state after 2016 and about 80 thousand before that. Himachal government will give pension to pre-2016 pensioners on the lines of the Center with a factor of 2.57.
Post-2016 pensioners will be given 50 percent of their last pay as pension. Along with this, the pension allowance at the age of 65, 70 and 75 years will continue. Now the minimum pension in the state will be Rs 9000, which was Rs 3500 earlier. The maximum pension will not exceed Rs 1,12,050.
Pension allowance will continue after 65, 70 and 75 years in pension. Additional pension will continue between 80 years and 100 years. Gratuity will also now increase from 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs.
Dearness relief will also now be 31 percent. The new pension rules are on a central basis and gratuity will also be increased from Rs 10 lakh to a maximum of Rs 20 lakh. However, on the arrears, the government has said that it will be announced separately. This arrear is from 1-1-2016 to 31-1-2021.
According to the coefficient given to the pensioners, for the pre-2016 pensioners whose pension was 38000 on 31st May, 2015, it will be 99 thousand rupees from 2016. Whose basic pension was fixed at Rs 4463 in 1998, it will be around Rs 26 thousand from 2016.
Pensioners Association also asked for additional pension
Himachal Pradesh Pensioners Association President HR Vashisht and General Secretary Harichand Gupta have expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and the State Government for issuing the revised pension order.
In these orders, the pension allowance to be given according to age in Himachal has also been continued. The association has demanded from the government that the demand for additional 5, 10 and 15 percent additional pension on the revised pension should be fulfilled.
Any two secretaries will be present during the discussion
Shimla . During the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address in the Assembly, the opposition complained about the vacancy of the Officers’ Gallery. The matter was brought to the notice of the government by the Leader of Opposition on Thursday at the start of the discussion.
