Awaiting reply from Delhi Transport Department
Delhi Metro Managing Director Mangu Singh said that a complete report has been sent to the Delhi government for the construction of a metro project between Shastri Park and Kondli.
This feasibility report is with the Delhi government for a long time. Delhi Metro has been working on this for a long time. At present, this report is lying under the consideration of the Transport Department. Work on this will be started after getting approval from the Delhi government.
What is the specialty of Light Metro
Mangu Singh said that the metro running from Shastri Park to Kondli will be a light metro. This will be about 15 km long corridor. Let us tell you that there are 3 coaches in Light Metro. It does not cost much and becomes a light metro corridor in a very small space.
There is very little space between Shastri Park and Kondli to build a normal metro, so a light metro corridor will be built here. Another special feature of Lite Mein 2 is that this corridor is built in only 40 percent of the normal cost.

According to the information received from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the corridor of Light Metro will go through Shastri Park, Old Seelampur, Gandhi Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Lake, Laxmi Nagar (Vikas Marg), Mandawali, Vinod Nagar to Kondli.
