Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: After a gap of more than four months, these prices were changed for the first time on Tuesday last week, after which fuel has become expensive for the 6th time within the last 7 days. 

Petrol-Diesel Price Hike: Now the prices of petrol and diesel in the country are increasing day by day. Petrol and diesel prices have increased again today. In Delhi, the price of petrol has increased by 30 paise and diesel by 35 paise,

after which the price of one liter of petrol in the capital has gone up to 99 rupees 41 paise and one liter diesel to 90 rupees 77 paise. Yesterday, the prices of petrol and diesel in the capital Delhi were increased by 50 paise and 55 paise respectively.

After a gap of more than four months, these prices were changed for the first time on Tuesday last week, after which fuel has become expensive for the 6th time within the last 7 days.

The price of a liter of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 114, 19 paise.

In the financial capital of the country, the price of one liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 114 by 19 paise and that of diesel by Rs 98 to 50 paise. Here the price of petrol has increased by 31 paise and that of diesel by 37 paise. Recently, crude oil prices have risen by around 35-40 per cent on the fear of tight supply.

Kolkata-

  • One liter petrol – Rs 108.85
  • One liter diesel – Rs 93.92

Chennai-

  • One liter petrol – Rs 108.18
  • One liter diesel – Rs 95.33

It is worth noting that fuel prices were stable from early November till Tuesday, during which the Center had reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per liter respectively.

OMCs make changes in the transportation fuel cost based on various factors. The final price includes excise duty, value added tax and dealer’s commission.

Sanctions against Russia a matter of concern for India

There are fears that the current sanctions against Russia will reduce much of global supply and affect growth. The price limit of crude oil is a matter of concern for India, as it can make petrol and diesel costlier by Rs 15 to 25. At present, India imports about 85 percent of its crude oil requirement.
