UP’s 16 lakh employees and 12 lakh pensioners are going to get big relief due to inflation. From this month, increased dearness allowance will be given to the state employees. The Finance Department has started preparations regarding this.
About 16 lakh employees and 12 lakh pensioners of UP may soon get the benefit of dearness allowance and dearness relief hike. It is expected that the salary of April, which will be received in May, will also be paid with the increased DA and DR. The state finance department is making preparations for this.
The Union Cabinet has announced three percent Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) by the Central Government for central employees and pensioners. In UP too, increased DA and DR are given only after the orders of the Centre.
According to the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the DA and DR of the employees and pensioners will become 34 percent if there is a three percent increase in the state. Right now it is getting 31 percent.
If the benefit of 3% DA and DR increase is given, the state government will have an additional burden of about Rs 1000 crore annually. The benefit of the increase is to be given from January.
Earlier, in July 2021, the state government had decided to give the benefit of three percent DA increase, which was given to the employees along with the salary of December. The arrears were paid through PF and other savings papers.
UP The President of Secretariat Association, Yadvendra Mishra has demanded from the state government that the order to give the benefit of DA increase to the employees should be issued soon.
