Union Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav gave information about this. Yadav expressed hope that the four labor codes will be implemented soon. After the implementation of the new wage code, there will be a change in the rules from salary, office timings to PF retirement. He said, the new law is to accommodate the changing ways of working in the labor sector and the need for a minimum wage.

About 38 crore workers in the unorganized sector

The draft rules for the four codes of labor law have already been issued by the central government. The Union Minister said that the government is working to provide social security to the entire workforce in the country.

That is why e-shram portal or national database of unorganized workers is being created. According to the estimates of the government, there are about 38 crore workers in the unorganized sector in the country. Tell you what is going to change with the implementation of the new wage code?

working hours

The new wage code proposes to increase the maximum working hours to 12 hours. It is divided according to the week in the ratio of 4-3. That is, 4 days office, 3 days week off. It is proposed to give 30 minutes break to the employee after every 5 hours.

Overtime for overworking 30 minutes

In the new wage code, it is proposed to include additional work of 15 to 30 minutes in overtime by counting 30 minutes. At present, time less than 30 minutes is not considered as overtime.

With the increase in PF, the contribution towards gratuity will also increase. That is, the benefit of reduction of take home salary will be available on PF and retirement. The rules related to salary and bonus will change.
