Welfare (DOPPW) in collaboration with the country’s largest bank SBI (State Bank of India) will prepare an ‘Integrated Pension Portal’ to make the lives of pensioners easier. This information was given by an official statement on Tuesday.

Statement issued by the Ministry of Pensions

During the two-day awareness program of bank employees in Udaipur, Rajasthan, sessions were organized on pension policy reform and digitization related to pension distribution to central government pensioners with the aim of making SBI officials aware of things.

The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said in a statement that a special session was held on digital means of submission of annual life certificates along with income tax matters relating to pensioners.

According to the statement, it has been decided that urgent efforts are needed to build a unified pension portal by linking the existing portals of DoPPW and SBI to provide seamless services to the pensioners .

The ‘face authentication technology’ for digital life certificates may be widely advertised by banks, the statement said. According to the statement, these programs are expected to go a long way in making the life of the pensioners easier.

Who gets the benefit?

Let us tell you that at present, those employees of the organized sector whose basic salary (Basic Pay and Dearness Allowance) is up to Rs 15,000, are compulsorily covered under EPS-95.

Let us tell you that for a long time, there has been a demand for more pension on higher contribution among the members of EPFO. Thus a new pension scheme is being actively considered for those whose monthly basic salary is more than Rs 15,000.
