What is fitment factor

While fixing the salary of central employees, all allowances such as DA, TA and House Rent Allowance (HRA) are calculated by multiplying the basic salary of the employee by the fitment factor. The basic salary of the employees increases only with the fitment factor.

If the government increases the fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, then the minimum basic salary will increase from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand. That is, the basic salary of government employees can be increased by eight thousand rupees.

Entry level salary

The government had earlier in 2017 increased the basic pay at the entry level from Rs 7,000 per month to Rs 18,000 per month. At present the minimum basic salary is Rs 18000 and the maximum basic salary is Rs 56900.

Basic salary is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor 2.57 of 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission). Suppose the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18 thousand, then excluding allowance will get 18000×2.57 = Rs 46,200. If this becomes 3.68, there will be a big increase in the basic salary of the employees.

Millions of people will be able to benefit

In view of the rising figures of inflation, it is being said that this time the government can increase DA by 4-5 percent. However, no statement has been issued by the government on this yet. If the government increases the DA of employees keeping in view the figures of inflation, then 50 lakh employees and 65 lakh pensioners will get the benefit.

Outstanding DA may be paid but not clear

There is news that the government can pay the dearness allowance stopped due to Corona. The government is planning to give a DA of two lakh rupees to the employees simultaneously. There has been a long-standing demand from the employees to give pending DA from January 2020 to June 2021.Live TV
