Actually, by-elections are to be held for the Legislative Assembly Constituencies in different states. DoPT issued orders to provide paid leave to the employees. According to the office memorandum issued on October 19, by-elections are to be held for the assembly constituencies of various states. For this the employees have been provided paid leave. Assembly by-elections are to be held in 6 states. in which holidays have been declared.

In their letter No. 78/EPS/2022 dated 10.10.2022, bye-elections to the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra, Bihar, Haryana, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, are going to be held as follows. In this regard, it is stated that regarding closure of Central Government offices and grant of paid leave to all concerned including daily wage/informal workers on the date of by-election by this Department, OM No. 12/14/99-JCA The guidelines have been issued vide Dated 10.10.2001.
It is reiterated in the order that all Central Government offices and Central Industrial Establishments shall remain closed in the notified areas where bye-elections to the State Legislative Assembly constituencies are to be held on the date of polling. On the date of poll, the concerned employees will be granted paid leave so that they can exercise their right to vote.
