In fact, the government will provide 21 kg wheat and 14 kg rice free of cost to the card holders taking free ration. The government has made a big announcement under the Antyodaya Ration Card Scheme.
Under this scheme, 21 kg wheat and 14 kg rice will also be provided to the ration card holders free of cost, along with packets of oil and salt. Beneficiaries will get the benefit of more wheat and rice.
This is how you will get the benefit of free ration
Despite this announcement by the government, card holders will have to spend Rs. 2 per kg for wheat and Rs. 3 per kg for rice to avail this facility. Apart from this, such ration card operators, who have salt oil and gram packets left. They will be distributed free of cost to Antyodaya card holders under this scheme.
Ration distribution rules
The government has clarified that the first come first serve rule will be applicable under this scheme. Oil and salt will be provided free of cost to the first comers. However, in case the operators run out of oil, salt and gram, the beneficiaries will not get its benefit.
80 crore beneficiaries benefited
In fact, many big announcements have been made by the government for ration card holders across the country. Along with this, they have been given the benefit of many facilities. More than 80 crore people are taking benefits of food grains under the Garib Kalyan Yojana. Ration cards of ineligible ration card holders are also being cancelled. Ration cards of 10 lakh ration card holders have been canceled by the government so far.
