Effect of cyclone in south india

Effect of cyclone mandus
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the state of Tamil Nadu on Thursday, 8 December. If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, the cyclone will create havoc in Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Landslides can also damage the road and some paved roads.

Heavy rain with thundershowers has been forecast over the coastal region and northern interior regions of Karnataka till December 12. Chikkamagalur, Kolar, Mysuru and Tumakuru are also going to receive rain. The IMD also said that rain would occur in the north Karnataka districts of Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir. It will also rain in the southern districts of Karnataka.

The IMD today issued a red alert for 3 districts in Tamil Nadu – Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Kancheepuram as cyclonic storm Mendus intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. IMD has issued a warning of light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places due to Cyclone Mendus.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone has turned into a severe cyclonic storm and is expected to cross near Malappuram at midnight. Due to which alert has been declared in these areas. Light to moderate rain is likely at most places over Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram districts and Puducherry regions and very heavy falls at a few places like Tiruvallur, Chennai, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over Cuddalore districts. Heavy rain is likely over Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Sivagangai districts and Karaikal areas.

Red alert in Tamil Nadu amid cyclone Mandaus
Cyclone Mandus has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm, with the IMD issuing a red alert to three districts in Tamil Nadu’s Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Kancheepuram today.

  • Due to this, light/moderate rain/snow is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh till December 10.
  • The maximum temperature will remain above normal over most parts of the Northeast till at least the end of December.

Light cloud traffic will continue in the capital Delhi today. The maximum temperature was recorded at 26 while the minimum temperature was recorded at 11 degree Celsius. There has been an increase in the minimum temperature. Severe cold is expected in Delhi in the coming 1 week.

The knock of dense fog will be seen. People will feel shivering, there will be drop in temperature. Due to the westerly wind, a continuous drop in temperature is being seen. The minimum temperature in Bhagalpur has reached 8 degree Celsius. Moisture remains in the air.

Weather will change in Rajasthan after December 12

It is getting cold in Mount Abu. Snow is visible in the fields in the morning, the temperature continues to fall. In Banswara and Kishanganj too, its drops have turned into snow on trees and plants. Many cities including Ajmer, Dholpur, Sikar, Churu Pilani in Rajasthan have seen a huge drop in the minimum temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, due to western disturbance, the flow of northern wind has reduced. Due to which there was a slight rise in the temperature. However, after December 12, there will be a drastic drop in the temperature.

The sky will remain cloudy throughout the day in Mumbai today. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 20 degree Celsius. However, the forecast of rain has been ruled out.

Drizzle warning in Madhya Pradesh

The fall in temperature continues in Madhya Pradesh. The mercury has reached below 10 degrees in many districts. Cold wave alert has been declared for people in 48 out of 52 districts. Apart from this, after December 12, drizzle can be seen in some parts of the state.
