NCERT has made major changes in the syllabus of class 10th, 11th and 12th books. During this, the chapter related to the Mughal Empire, Congress, Communist and Bharatiya Jana Sangh has been removed.

NCERT Removed Chapters from 10th, 11th and 12th Class: National Council of Educational Research and Training ie NCERT has removed some chapters from 10th, 11th and 12th class books. Which is considered a big change. Explain that NCERT has finished the chapters of ‘The Cold War Era’ and ‘US Hegemony in World Politics’ from the civics book. For which NCERT informed that the updated syllabus will be implemented from the academic session (2023-24).

These changes will be applicable for all schools across the country where NCERT books are part of the curriculum. CBSE and Uttar Pradesh Board are also involved in this. The changes will be implemented from the 2023-24 session. This updated syllabus is being done to make it more suitable for teachers and students. This will give students a chance to study more new subjects, new aspects and new techniques. Along with this, this syllabus will give more emphasis on subjects which help in personal development of students, upliftment of society and nation building.

Changes in Class 12 Chapters

  • Explain that two lessons named ‘The Mughal Court’ and ‘Kings and Chronicles’ have been removed from the class 12th history book. According to this new syllabus, now children will not get a chance to read about Akbar and other Mughal rulers, creation of manuscripts, ideal state, capitals and court, titles and gifts, royal family, royal bureaucracy etc.
  • While the lessons on “American Hegemony” and “The Cold War Era” have been removed from the Class 12 Political Science book.
  • Also, the topics “In India since Independence since the rise of popular movements” and “Era of one party dominance” have been removed from the Class 12 Politics book. In which the dominance of Congress, Socialist Party, Communist Party of India, Bharatiya Jana Sangh and Swatantra Party was told.

Change in 11th class chapters

  • On the other hand, if we talk about class 11th, the chapters “Themes in World”, “Central Islamic Land” and “Confrontation of Cultures” have been removed from their history book.
  • The chapter on the Mughal Empire (Mughal court, 16th and 17th centuries) has also been completely removed from the history book Themes of Indian History-Part II.
    Also, some paragraphs and poems have been removed from the Hindi book.

Change in 10th class chapters

  • Now let’s talk about the change in the syllabus of Political Science in class 10th by NCERT. Under this, children will not have to study the chapters “Democracy and Diversity” and “Popular Struggles and Movements”.
  • Apart from this, many chapters have also been removed from the book Democratic Politics-2. These include the Challenges of Democracy, including Popular Struggles and Movements, Democracy and Diversity.

Know the main purpose of the changes

As per the recent changes, all other state boards as well as CBSE have dropped some chapters related to the Mughal Empire from the Class 12 History syllabus. Apart from this, the syllabus of Civics has also changed. Compositions of Firaq and Nirala will also not be included in the syllabus. NCERT officials have confirmed that the main objective of these changes is to change the syllabus from time to time based on the new facts.
