Madurai: Holiday declared on May 5
In fact, the Madurai district administration of Tamil Nadu has declared a holiday in the district on May 5 in view of the entry of Lord Kallazhagar of Vaigai river to participate in the Chithirai festival. In view of the urban body elections in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, a public holiday was declared. District Magistrate, District Election Officer, Urban Body Election, Anuj Kumar Jha said that in view of the polling date in the Urban Body Election, May 4 has been announced as a public holiday in the district. During this, all government institutions and offices including all educational institutions of Jaunpur will remain closed.
Giving information, the District Magistrate said that keeping in view the general election of the Mayor and Councilor of the Municipal Corporation of the state and the Chairman and Member of Nagar Panchayat, including the mayor and councilor of the state, the first phase of voting will be held on May 4 while the second phase will be held on April 20.
