SBI has issued a notice to the bank locker holders. In which the bank has urged the customers to make changes as per the revised / supplementary agreement.

SBI Alert: The country’s largest public sector bank has issued a notice to customers with bank lockers. In which SBI has advised the customers to update the bank locker agreement. The rules related to Bank Locker are going to be amended. RBI has directed banks to implement the revised bank locker agreement by 30 September.

It has become mandatory for locker holders to show eligibility for new locker agreement. Along with this, there will be a need to enter into an agreement for renewal. If you also have a locker in SBI, then get this work done immediately. In this regard, the bank is continuously alerting the customers.

SBI has recently urged customers through a tweet, “All locker holders may contact their locker branch and make changes as per the revised/supplementary agreement.”

Explain that the Reserve Bank of India has given a deadline to all banks to issue changes to the locker agreement. According to the RBI circular, banks have been asked to implement the rules of locker agreement up to 50% by 30th June and 75% by 30th September. According to the Central Bank, these rules have been implemented to provide security to the customers.

Explain that depending on the size and location of the locker, SBI charges an annual fee. At present the fee for small and medium lockers is Rs.500+GST. Whereas for Large and XL, the fee is Rs 1000 + GST.
