Bank Locker Charges Change: If you have taken SBI’s bank locker or are planning to take it, then first of all find out about its bank locker charges. No you may have to face many problems.

State Bank of India, the country’s largest government bank, has issued a special notification for those customers who have lockers in the bank. In order to comply with the instructions of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SBI has asked all locker holders to visit their respective bank branch and sign the new locker agreement at the earliest. The announcement was made through a tweet from the bank, emphasizing the importance of customers reading the notice of the new agreement before signing it.

RBI has directed all banks to ensure that at least 50% of their locker holders sign the new agreement by June 30, 2023. Apart from this, all the banks are expected to provide necessary details to their customers as well as update the status of their locker agreements on the efficient portal of RBI.

Locker charges for SBI customers will vary depending on the size and location of the locker. Small and medium sized lockers will be charged Rs 500 along with applicable GST. On the other hand, larger lockers will require a registration fee of Rs 1000 plus GST.

Know how much will be the charge?

  • For small lockers in urban or metro cities, SBI customers will have to pay Rs 2,000 plus GST.
  • In small towns or rural areas, apart from GST, the charge for a small locker will be Rs 1,500.
  • Medium-sized lockers in urban or metro cities will cost Rs 4,000 plus GST.
  • In small towns or rural areas, the charge for a medium-sized locker will be Rs 3,000 including GST.
  • Rs 8,000 plus GST will be charged from customers who buy large size lockers in big and metro cities.
  • In smaller cities and rural areas, the charge for a larger size locker will be Rs 6,000 plus GST.
  • 12,000 plus GST will have to be paid for the largest locker offered by SBI in big cities or metro areas.
  • In small towns and rural areas, the charge for the largest locker will be Rs 9,000 plus GST.

Explain that SBI has advised customers to immediately visit their respective bank branches and sign a new locker agreement to ensure compliance with RBI instructions and avoid any inconvenience in future. So that there is no problem of any kind in future.
