IMD Weather Updates 21 June: The Meteorological Department said that there may be torrential rains in many areas in Uttar Pradesh from 21 to 25 June. Monsoon activities are going to increase over the rest of the country.
IMD Weather Report 21 June: The weather pattern is going to change in the plains of the country. People are expected to get relief from the heat. In its forecast issued on June 21, the IMD said conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon into some parts of South Peninsular India, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh during next 2-3 days. Due to this, there are chances of rain in these areas.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that there may be torrential rains in many areas in Uttar Pradesh from June 21 to 25. Monsoon activities are going to increase over the rest of the country. According to the latest update of IMD, there will be heavy rains in many states for the next five days. Heavy rains are expected in West Bengal and Sikkim today. At the same time, there may be heavy rains in Bihar and Jharkhand for the next two days. Heavy rains are expected in Odisha on June 23 and 24.
Apart from this, there are chances of rain and thundershowers at isolated places in the hilly states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next five days. There may be heavy rains in Chhattisgarh from 23 to 25 June.
Chance of cloudy sky in Delhi
There is a possibility of light rain with cloudy sky on Wednesday and Thursday in Delhi. The IMD has predicted no heat wave conditions in Delhi till June 7. Due to the impact of cyclone ‘Biparjoy’, the city has been receiving intermittent rains for the past few days. Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.4 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 38 degree Celsius.
According to IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to remain below 40 degree Celsius in the coming five-six days. The Safdarjung observatory has so far recorded 20.3 mm of rain against the normal of 38.3 mm, which is 47 per cent less. No heat wave days have been recorded at Safdarjung Observatory this year so far. The Meteorological Department has not yet announced the date of arrival of monsoon in Delhi. Usually it reaches here by June 27.
