7th Pay Commission: Apart from the dearness allowance for the employees, the central government may soon give another good news. There may be an increase in House Rent Allowance (HRA) soon. The government can increase HR by 3 percent. The House Rent Allowance was earlier revised in July 2021. With the increase in this allowance, now the salary of the employees will be higher than before.
House Rent Allowance is not given to all employees. This is only for those employees who live in rented accommodation. The government gives HR to such government employees. However, it is not given equally to all. Employees are divided into three categories on the basis of requirement of HRA city and residence. Let us know who gets how much house rent allowance.

House Rent Allowance is divided into three categories. House rent allowance is given in X, Y and Z categories. Areas with a population of more than 50 lakhs come under the first category X. Employees falling in this category are given HRA 24 percent under the Seventh Pay Commission. Areas with a population of 5 lakh to 50 lakh come under the second category Y and the employees are given 16 percent house rent allowance under the Seventh Pay Commission. On the other hand, the employees living here under the third category Z are given HRA 8 percent under the basic salary. Cities with an area of less than five lakhs come here.
How much HRA will increase
According to media reports, if the government increases the HRA, then now HRA will increase to 27 percent in the X category of employees. Y category can get 18 percent and Z category can get 9 percent HRA. On the other hand, if the dearness allowance crosses 50 per cent, then the HRA will be 30 per cent, 20 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.
When will HRA increase
The government has already issued a notification in this regard, there may be an increase in HRA soon. An increase in HRA can be announced anytime in July. At the same time, dearness allowance is 42 percent. In such a situation, it is also expected to increase. There can be an increase in DA of employees by 3 to 4 percent.
