IMD Alert: As soon as the South West Monsoon becomes active, the process of heavy rain has started in the whole country. In the next 24 hours, due to Western Disturbance and Monsoon winds, an estimate of heavy rainfall has been issued in most areas of North West India.

Today on Monday, there will be extremely heavy rainfall in the plains of Western Himalayan region, North West and West India. At the same time, updates of landslides, floods and heavy damages are coming from hilly areas like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Along with this, in the next 24 hours also many states including Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat An alert has been issued for heavy to very severe rain. This process of monsoon is going to continue till 16th July.

Heavy rain in Punjab-Delhi

According to IMD, today a forecast of very heavy rainfall has been issued in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Delhi. Heavy to very heavy rain with light to moderate rain very likely over Western Himalayan region, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan and heavy rain at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of more and more heavy rains from 11 to 15 July. Scattered to moderate rains with isolated to moderate rains with maximum intensity over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur. There may be heavy rains in different areas in Odisha. Today, heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls over Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Mahe with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

High alert of heavy rain in Himachal-Uttarakhand

Along with this, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in 13 districts of Himachal and Uttarakhand till July 13. In some places red and in some places orange alert has been issued. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Jharkhand between July 10-13. Heavy rains may occur at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Monday. There may be very heavy rains in Bihar from 11-13 July. In Punjab, Haryana, UP and East Rajasthan, yellow alert has been issued for heavy rains for the next two days, while in some areas of Delhi, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains even today. Holiday has been declared for schools in Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad.

Light to moderate rain alert in these states

According to the same weather forecast agency Skymet, during the next 24 hours, normal to scattered rains may occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, North West Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan and parts of Konkan and Goa. Moderate to heavy rain with isolated heavy falls very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Moderate rains are likely over Northeast India, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Ladakh, Interior Maharashtra, parts of Telangana and Lakshadweep. Scattered rain is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

  • Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by gusty winds very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Karnataka, Marathwada.
  • Heavy rain at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, North Might be possible.
  • Scattered to very heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Odisha, Gujarat State, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
  • There is also a possibility of storm, lightning and strong wind at different places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
  • Torrential rain is expected in Odisha for the next 5 days, Bihar from 10 to 13 July, Jharkhand from 11 to 12 July and Andaman and Nicobar Islands till 11 July. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains in central India for the next five days.

Weather system

On the other hand, if the weather system is told, then one line has reached Rajasthan’s Kechuru via Uttar Pradesh, while another line is moving straight from Rajasthan towards Kerala. At the same time, the movement of moisture from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea continues.
