Following the order of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), SBI has asked all locker customers to visit the bank. SBI Bank has asked all bank locker customers to sign a fresh contract for the locker.
SBI has to settle the work related to bank locker by this date
SBI has said on its official Twitter that locker customers of SBI Bank should sign the contracts by visiting their branch where the locker is located. RBI has directed all banks to get 50 per cent locker holders to sign new contracts by June 30. On the other hand, from September 30, get 75 percent of the locker holders signed. 100% locker customers have been asked to sign new contracts by December 31. RBI has also instructed to update on its efficient portal.
SBI Bank locker charges
SBI customers should note that locker charges depend on the size and location of the locker. Small and medium sized lockers will attract a charge of Rs 500 including GST. For a bigger locker, a registration charge of Rs 1,000 and GST will have to be paid.
The locker rent is decided on the basis of the city and the size of the locker.
- SBI customers in urban or metro cities will have to pay Rs 2,000 plus GST for the small locker.
- In small towns or rural areas, the charge for a small locker will be Rs 1,500 plus GST.
- In urban or metro cities, a medium-sized locker will cost Rs 4,000 plus GST.
- The charges for a medium-sized locker in small towns or rural areas will be Rs 3,000 including GST.
- Customers opting for larger size lockers in major metro cities will have to pay Rs 8,000 plus GST.
- In small towns and rural areas, the fee for a larger size locker will be Rs 6,000 plus GST.
