Expressway Toll Tax: Now toll will have to be paid on this expressway, know how much money will have to be paid at 6 toll points
Expressway Toll Tax: Prime Minister Modi inaugurated this expressway in July 2022. Due to non-release of toll tax tender by any company, till now the drivers were traveling for free on this expressway.
Now driving on the 296 kilometer long Bundelkhand Expressway passing through 7 districts of Uttar Pradesh is going to cost you dearly. Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has now selected the company to collect toll on this expressway. Now you may have to pay toll ranging from Rs 600 to Rs 3900 at 6 toll points on the expressway. However, the toll rates have not been officially announced yet.
To collect toll on Bundelkhand Expressway, 6 toll plazas (Bundelkhand Expressway Toll Plaza) and seven ramp plazas are ready on the expressway. Bundelkhand Expressway passes through 7 districts of UP namely Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Banda and Chitrakoot. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid its foundation stone in the year 2020. This expressway, completed in record time, was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in July 2022. Due to non-release of toll tax tender by any company, till now the drivers were traveling for free on this expressway.
UPDA finalized company
Tenders were called for the first time on January 24 to collect toll tax on the Bundelkhand Expressway, but due to the condition of Rs 100 crore, only one company filled the tender. Then by removing this condition, asked for tender many times. After that, now three companies have expressed their desire to do the work of toll tax collection. Proposals of three companies were presented in the 84th board meeting of UPEDA. Indradeep Construction Company, the highest bidder, was approved for handing over the work of collecting toll tax. The company had given the highest offer of Rs 68.38 crore.
How much toll will have to be paid?
UPDA has not yet announced the toll rates for Bundelkhand Expressway. Separate toll tax has been fixed for five categories of vehicles. It is believed that normal trucks and heavy machine vehicles used in construction will have to pay a toll of about Rs 3,000 and vehicles larger than seven axles will have to pay about Rs 3,900. Toll rates can be around Rs 950 for passenger buses and around Rs 600 for four wheelers like cars etc.
