Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Friday that his government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of state employees by four percent to 42 percent from January this year. He said that with this, the employees of the state will get dearness allowance at par with the central government.

Chouhan said, “…. I had announced last days that we will give dearness allowance to the employees of the state at par with the Centre. We have decided today that we will give the same 42 percent dearness allowance from the month of January itself.” He said, “The arrears of dearness allowance will be given in three equal installments from January to June.”

Chouhan said that the dearness allowance of all those employees, who are getting the sixth pay scale, will also be increased proportionately. He said that we had also decided in the year 2014 that the employees who have completed 30 years of service will be given the third time scale pay scale. We have also decided that the employees who have completed 35 years of service by July 1, 2023, will also be given the fourth time scale pay scale. About seven and a half lakh state employees will be benefited by this decision of the state government.
What is the update for central government employees?
The new number of dearness allowance of central employees is going to come this month. This will finalize how much dearness allowance they will get in the next half year. At present, central government employees are getting 42 per cent dearness allowance. Now the AICPI index number of DA received from July 1, 2023 will come on July 31. This will be the final number for the calculation of dearness allowance. So far, from the figures that have come for this half year, it is clear that a 4 percent increase in DA Hike can be seen. Due to this, his allowance can be 46 percent.
