The government should take a decision considering the flood situation

Lawyers’ Tax Association ATBA has written a letter to the Finance Minister. In this letter, the institution has demanded to extend the last date for filing income tax returns in view of the flood situation in different states of the country including the capital Delhi. In its letter, the association has written that as you know that due to heavy rains, there has been loss of life and property in many parts of the country. In many places, many offices including the Income Tax office are closed. In such a situation, taxpayers are facing difficulty in filing ITR till the last date. The deadline for filing GST and ITR is also matching. For this reason, in view of the flood situation, the government should extend the deadline for filing ITR by one month.
