Both CM and PM are expected to attend

Sources say that an agreement can be reached to start the Rapid Rail soon. First, the 17 km long section of the train from Sahibabad to Duhai (Ghaziabad) will be started. PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are expected to attend its launch. The fare charge on the route of this train has been finalized by NCRTC. After the commencement of the New Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express, which started last day, the fare of the train is being changed.

Rent will be between Rs 170-200

The stoppage of this trade will also be in Meerut. The fare is being finalized after studying other options on this route. The source said that passengers will have to pay around Rs 170-200 to travel between Anand Vihar and Meerut Central. While the chair car fare in Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Meerut is Rs 485. There are already various facilities including Expressway, AC Bus Service and Shatabdi Express to reach Meerut. In such a situation, NCRTC believes that the fare of RAPIDEX should be competitive in comparison to other existing modes of transport.

According to an estimate, the expected fare is estimated to be between Rs 3 to 4 per km. This makes RRTS service an attractive option for commuters. NCRTC has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs outlining the fare structure for the country’s first regional train service. After the commencement of the train, the journey between Delhi-Meerut is expected to take just 43 minutes. After the commencement of operations on the entire corridor, trains will be available at a frequency of 5-10 minutes.
