Bank Holidays Update: Along with the long bank holidays in August, there are going to be long holidays in the month of September as well. In such a situation, if you still have 2000 rupees note, then deposit it in the bank as soon as possible.
New Delhi: In this month i.e. in August 2023, banks are going to be closed for a total of 14 days including Sunday, second and fourth Saturdays, while in the month of September also there will be long holidays due to the festivals. Banks will remain closed on these holidays. In such a situation, if you still have a 2000 rupee note, then deposit it in the bank as soon as possible or exchange it for notes of other denominations, because the deadline for changing the note is near.
Deadline to exchange 2000 notes is September 30
Since the decision to withdraw 2000 rupee note from circulation, many people are contacting banks to exchange or deposit this note. The Reserve Bank of India had given four months time to deposit or exchange 2000 rupee notes, which would end on 30th of September next month. Therefore, 2000 rupee notes should be changed or deposited by 30 September 2023. So, if you still intend to make deposits in the coming months, the dates of bank holidays have to be taken care of.
List of bank holidays in this month August 2023
- Many festivals, festivals and days are falling in the month of August, on which bank holidays (Bank Holiday in August 2023) are going to be held. However, this holiday may vary from state to state.
- August 6 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on weekly holiday.
- August 8 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Tendong Lo Rum Phat.
- August 12 (Saturday) – Due to the second Saturday of the month, the work in the banks will be closed.
- August 13 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on weekly holiday.
- August 15 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on the occasion of Independence Day.
- August 16 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Maharashtra on the occasion of Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi).
- August 18 (Friday) – Banks are going to remain closed in Assam due to Srimanta Sankardeva’s date.
- August 20 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on weekly holiday.
- August 26 (Saturday) – Due to the fourth Saturday of the month, the work in the banks will be closed.
- August 27 (Sunday) – Banks will remain closed across the country on weekly holiday.
- August 28 (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of First Onam.
- August 29 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Thiruvonam.
- August 30-(Wednesday)- Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
- August 31 – (Thursday) – Banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand, Assam, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Shri Narayan Guru Jayanti, Pang-Labsol.
