The Meteorological Department has said that till August 21, heavy rain is expected at different places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura as well as in Arunachal Pradesh from Saturday till August 21.
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in its latest update has predicted heavy rains across India. IMD said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in East and adjoining Central India on Saturday, as well as in the Northeast on August 21. IMD in its update said that there is a forecast of light to moderate scattered to heavy rains in East India.
Rain in these areas till Saturday
The IMD has further predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Odisha till Saturday, Jharkhand on Friday, Bihar on August 21 and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on August 21. Apart from this, isolated rain over Odisha on Friday There is a possibility of very heavy rain at isolated places. In the forecast, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning over central India.

Very heavy rainfall is also expected at different places in Chhattisgarh on Friday. In Northeast, the expected weather pattern may include light to moderate scattered to heavy rains along with thunderstorm and lightning activity. The forecast for northwest India indicates light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rain with thunder and lightning activity. The IMD said isolated rain and thundershowers are expected over Uttarakhand and East Uttar Pradesh on Friday and August 21. There is a possibility of heavy rain at places. There is a possibility of heavy rains in western Uttar Pradesh on August 21.
In South India, the weather forecast has predicted light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rain with thunder and lightning. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday as well as Telangana on Friday and Saturday. Apart from this, hot and humid weather is expected in Tamil Nadu on Friday.
