The new Toyota Innova Hycross has been launched in India by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. This car will run on 40% Bio-Ethanol and 60% electrified flex fuel.

Automobile News: Toyota has started a new revolution in the automobile market. The company has unveiled the world’s first BS 6 (Stage II) electrified flex car. The new Toyota Innova Hycross will soon be seen running on the Indian roads. The new MPV will not run on petrol or diesel but on 40% Bio-Ethanol and 60% electrified flex fuel.

Understand the concept of flex fuel

The concept of flex fuel is quite old. Flex fuel was used in the 1994 Ford Taurus. Petrol and diesel are becoming costlier day by day in the country, as well as such vehicles are also considered a threat to the environment. But vehicles based on flex fuel can provide relief from the increasing pollution on the earth.

Explain that flex fuel is called those, which are manufactured in the fields. Ethanol can also be made from sugarcane juice or corn. This fuel is made through the process of sugar and starch fermentation, which is more budget friendly than petrol. The price of ethanol is around Rs 60 per litre.

Car features

The new Toyota Innova Hycross is special in itself. It gives a mileage of 15-20 kmpl. It can also run in minus 15 degree temperature. Its engine is capable of generating 181bhp power. Also, the MPV itself is capable of generating electric power, with the help of which it can also be driven in EV mode. The Bharat Stage 6 compliant car gets a lithium-ion battery pack. According to the report, it gives 30-50% fuel efficiency.
