LPG subsidy for Ujjwala beneficiaries: The government has increased the LPG subsidy for Ujjwala beneficiaries to Rs 300 per cylinder, after which beneficiaries in Delhi will be able to get LPG cylinder for around Rs 703.
The Central Government has announced to increase the subsidy of Rs 200 being given on LPG cylinder to the beneficiaries of Ujjwala Scheme. Now this subsidy will increase to Rs 300 per LPG cylinder. Let us tell you that last month in September, the government had announced a reduction of Rs 200 in the price of LPG cylinder. After price cut and increase in subsidy, Ujjwala beneficiary in Delhi is going to get LPG cylinder for around Rs 703.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government on Wednesday increased the LPG subsidy for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana from the current Rs 200 to Rs 300 per cylinder. He said that in September, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved providing additional 75 lakh LPG connections to women under the Ujjwala scheme.
The burden on the government will increase by Rs 1650 crore
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the additional LPG connections to be provided during the next three years will incur a financial burden of Rs 1650 crore. As per the existing modalities of Ujjwala 2.0, the first refill and stove will also be provided free of cost to the beneficiaries.
The price was reduced by Rs 200 in September
A month ago, the Union Cabinet had decided to reduce the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs 200, giving relief to the citizens. After which the cylinder which was available for Rs 1100 is now available for Rs 900. With this decision, the price of 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi has come down from Rs 1,103 per cylinder to Rs 903.
